Hey, big thanks to everyone who gave an answer, please keep in mind that weβre all here to help the OP, so thereβs no need to argue with each other about differences in the answers.
Hey, just a friendly reminder that linked article and people in this this thread are taking the time to explain what autistic burnout feels like. So please be mindful of trying to explain or define this as something else and just listen to what people who experience this are saying.

Brandon Blatcher: "This comment and a response to it have been removed, because MetaFilter doesn't condone or support murdering people, so please keep your support for doing such things to yourself."
A MetaTalk discussion has been created about this mod action, please shift all related discussion to that thread.
Tell Me No Lies: "Start killing off the people who work on it."
This comment and a response to it have been removed, because MetaFilter doesn't condone or support murdering people, so please keep your support for doing such things to yourself.
Strong reactions and/or statements to unfair situations or practices is totally fine, of course, but we are drawing a line at calls for murder.
Removed several derailing comments about Italian syntax. The OP is just looking for jokes, not a language debate, please just stick to what was being asked.
chasing: "God I hate TikTokβ¦"
Comment removed, as it adds nothing to the conversation and is potentially derailing.
It's fine to not like a particular social media platform, but since it's a personal preference thing, there's no need to share that information with everyone else.
Some text moved to be inside the post.
googly: "...and deserves better than this shoddy, low-effort post"
Suggestions on typo fixes and the like is great, but tossing in these sort of comments isn't, don't do this. Whatever good you may have intended, it just winds up making people feel bad.
DJZouke: "Sorry for the Mar-Keys typo. I did not intend for the post to be low effort. I was not feeling very well so..."
Thank you for taking the time to make a post about a great musician, it is appreciated!
Added to site banner.
HearHere: "flagging: mods, can you fix above as requested?"
Can you please message or explain exactly what you want done? Thanks!

One comment delete for posting the output from ChatGpt, which goes against the Content Policy:
Please do not query ChatGPT or other LLMs and then post the output unless the discussion itself is about those types of tools, and in those cases, please clearly label what you are posting as coming from an AI tool.
One comment removed. Let's avoid sexist comments, saying "she was basically asking for it" is definitely against our Content Policy
One comment deleted, posterβs request.
One comment removed for not answering the question. As noted in the Content Policy:
Ask MetaFilter comments should address the main question being asked. Jokes, derailing the conversation, ranting, picking a fight or chastising the asker, arguing among commenters, single word comments and other non-answers will probably be removed.
One comment removed for pulling information from a member's profile and posting it in a thread, which is not ok per this FAQ entry, please don't do that. This may not have been meant maliciously, or the info was viewed as being on topic, but either way, avoid pulling information from a user's profile.
If anyone wants to do this, they'll need to explicitly asked for permission to do so and the member has to give explicit permission for you to share the information in a thread.
The comment has been removed and the text of it has been emailed to the writer of it, in case they'd like to rewrite it.

knile: "Leuchtterm1917 notebooks"
Hey this link is broken and not sure what you meant to link to, maybe this notebook in the yellow? If not, let the mods know and we can update the original link. Edit: now that link is down, even though it was working a second ago! Bottom line, Leuchtturm1917 has notebook similar in color to what the OP was asking for.

What does 'promoting piracy' mean in that context?
Can you explain to me how saying "I went back to pirating" is "allow[ing] it on the site"?
Posting a comment that says "Honestly I just canceled everything and started pirating again", having that deleted and asked to not promote piracy, then posting a second comment that says "You should just pirate" is the line we're drawing here. Don't explicitly suggest/tell/advise others to pirate stuff and don't announce that you're pirating.
'Cause while the chances of the site being investigated for promoting piracy are small, we think it's a good idea to make those chances even smaller by having members avoid advocating piracy.

Another comment removed for not answering the question.
Reverend John, please avoid adding additional comments to this thread, 'cause there's no need to turn it into a religious debate.

One comment removed for mocking another comment, which violates the Content Policy.
Be kind to others. Answers that others give may not be what you would do or even believe in, but there's not need to mock them for their different beliefs.

One comment removed for bringing ethnicity into the situation where it wasn't needed. By all means share your dissatisfaction with your experience of hiring a housekeeper, but pointing out they were Haitian and a immigrant wasn't relevant to the experience.
If you'd like the repost the comment without those bits, just email the mods and we can send you the text of the comment.

One comment removed for being posted in the wrong thread, no big deal. Mollymillions, I've emailed you the text of the comment if you'd like to post it elsewhere.
One comment removed for revealing how this season ends in discussion about the first episode.
Folks, please do not reveal things that happen in future episodes, even if all the episodes have been released. You can make separate post/discussion about multiple episodes, but otherwise just keep discussion to the current or previous episodes.
Axiom, if you're ok with mods removing that particular poiler paragraph from your comment and and letting the rest of it be live, let us know, that's totally an option.

OP is asking for help with their smart lock, not for quotes from Scifi stories that predicted this might happen. Please just answer the question or if you don't have an answer, just move on.
AskMe is stricter about content moderation and comments that aren't answering the question are removed.

Beis tote link fixed, thanks for your patience!
One comment (seemingly unrelated to the thread) removed.
These are the films that check the boxes for "laugh until you cry" humor.
Hey, just a reminder that those sorts of films aren't what the OP was asking for. They want to know "What movies start with the main character dying, and then flash back to the life of that character and events leading up to the death?" so please just stick to suggestions along those lines, thanks!
Edited to add: OP of this comment asked for it to be removed in the a.m. EST of 11/29

Link updated and post reinstated upon poster's request.
Hi all. It's great that people are giving suggestions about what to do in the future or to just return the device, but the OP needs help with what's going right now with the current device, so please focus answers on that part of the question to help the OP!
No comments have been removed, but again, future comments should focus on what's going on now.
One derailing comment and response to it removed.
Adrienneleigh, the ridiculously adorable animal is helping search and rescue teams recover dead bodies, so there's zero need to derail the post by saying "But nobody should be teaching animals to be cops or to help cops."
People having issues with police is understandable, but this isn't the thread for that.
Hi all, one comment has been removed for suggesting hte Monash FODMAP App, which the OP stated in the post that they're already using.
One comment and response removed for trying to shame the OP. This violates the Content Policy, please don't do that.
AskMetaFilter is about helping people, not shaming them, please just answer the question and if that's not possible, it's ok to not post anything.

Deleted a couple. okayturnip, stick to answering the question please.
One comment removed for not even remotely answering the question, while being dismissive of it. AskMe answers need to answer the question, per the Content Policy
If you can't answer the question, it's totally ok to skip it!

extramachine: "I lurk there sometimes, but seeing the comments on other Ask-ers has dissuaded me a few times from putting personal questions on AskMe. "
Hey, you can ask a question anonymously or create another account to ask questions. The latter might be a better choice, as it allows you respond or clarify anything if need be.

One deleted: OPβs story is perfectly clear. Answer accordingly, donβt introduce your own speculation please.
One derailing comment removed. Please try to stay roughly on topic.
If your comment begins with β On a tangentially related note:β and the subject is serious one, please consider whether that comment really adds anything to the current discussion.
A couple of derailing comments and a response to them have been removed. Just focus on the link in the post please!
Hi, mod here noting a flag received about this post.
Currently the discussion seems ok in terms of pointing out the problematic aspects, but if folks do want this post removed, please just favorite this comment and we'll make it happen.
Final update from the OP:
Back when I posted this question, Unattach didn't have the precise feature I wanted, but I wrote and requested it, and some time ago, it got added. I finally started using it, and so far, it's great.
Ungated link update to https://archive.is/UkAXO, per OP request.
Added to site banner.
Rewatch type added at OPβs request
Changed date in post to 18th, updated staff box.
One comment removed. Let's avoid speculating about someone's sexual abuse history. This is inappropriate and considered against our guidelines.

Welcome back Cloudflare!
One comment removedas requested.
Also, happy Birthday, loquacious!
Changed Charlottesville, VA to Charlotte, NC.
One deleted. Let's focus on answering the question and helping OP solve their question.

Board tags should be showing up correctly now, and the error loading new comments should also be fixed.
One comment removed and account deleted due to the account being an obvious troll one that targeted a specific member and dragged off site happenings onto MetaFilter.
It should be noted that the troll account was directed at me as a mod and that I'm currently the mod on duty. After consulting with the new board they were in agreement that the comment and account should be removed because there was no need for it be left around for a different mod to deal with.

***** Panorama team should be put up against a ******* wall and shot.
The entire comment that contained this phrase has been removed, because while having a strong reason to anything is fine, MetaFilter's Content Policy does draw the line at advocating for people to be killed or other threats and/or wishes of violence.
Don't do that on this site.
Added content warning and fixed up tags.
Note that the system doesn't allow spaces in tags, it'll split those words into two or more tags. Just leave the spaces out or or add underscores between words. So instead of "growing up" do "growingup" or "growing_up" to make the tags appear as one.
Removed two comments seemingly posted in the wrong thread, along with a response to them.
ShooBoo, you've been killing it with your last few posts! They've been interesting and great reads, so thank you sharing them with us!
Think I got it!
One comment removed at user's request
Hi all.
As noted by the OP, the question they are asking has been answered, they've marked a comment as best answer.
Please stop with derails about the OP or their medication, or much of anything else, the question has been answered.

Another comment advocating piracy removed. Rhymedirective, knock it off, you've been asked to stop.
One deleted: be civil, and focus on answering the question please.
Link fixed!
One comment removed. Let's avoid unhelpful/non-answer comments like "They're all bullshit."
Two comments removed. Please do not promote piracy or any other illegal activity here. Also, Ask MetaFilter comments should address the main question being asked so, please do not comment just to start an argument with other user.
One deleted. Posterβs request.
Two comments by Didymus have been removed, the reasons are summed by donnagirl in this comment.
Didymus has been put on an open-ended ban while mods discuss whether the ban should be permanent. This information has been emailed to Didymus along with a note that we'll have a final decision within 72 hours (Wednesday evening, eastern time).

Fixed a content editing error on my part. I made an incorrect edit to the post content based off of a flagβs suggestion, another flagger brought the error to my attention. Thanks all!
Comment edited at posterβs request.
Another comment removed per the Content Policy about posting LLM output: "Please do not query ChatGPT or other LLMs and then post the output unless the discussion itself is about those types of tools"
One comment removed for name calling ( saying another member is a "motherfucker")
One off topic comment and a response to it removed. Please just answer the question and avoid rants how boring mefites as a whole are.
Removed one derailing comment and a polite response to it. Let's keep things focused on the very cool game guidebook about a game that never existed.
One comment removed, please refer to the Ask MetaFilter section of the content policy. Ask MetaFilter comments should address the main question being asked and Jokes derailing the conversation will probably be removed.

One comment removed for making jokes. Please remember that AskMe has a stricter content policy and comments should be focused on answering the question, thanks!
Edited this comment to put most of the text behind the details tag.
Hi, just a quick mod note to say that weβve verified that the asker of this question is NOT the person who is the subject of the question or anyone related to the subject.
Edited post to add link to Part 2
One comment removed for not answering the question and telling an unrelated story. Sorry, but AskMe is a bit stricter with its answering policy, which should address the question being asked.
One deleted. User request.
Hi all.
We're starting to get into derail territory with the discussion of the phrase "Chinese whispers" so please drop that topic from this thread, but feel free to bring it up in MetaTalk.

Noting that the terms "transmale" and "transfemale" are considered problematic because these are medicalizing terms associated with Trans-Exclusionary views. The preferred the terms are "trans man/woman" or "transgender man/woman". I've reached out to the member in question and edited the comment with their permission.
Post title change at OP's request
Also, edited main post to change "cryoptocurrency" to "cryptocurrency". Thanks for pointing that out Strutter Cane - United Planets Stilt Patrol!
One comment removed at writer's request.
One comment removed for seemingly not answering the question. MeMailed OP of comment for clarification.
One comment edited to remove the URL at the writer's request.
Mitheral: "It is unclear whether it is anonymous to MeFi admin accounts."
The admins can see who gives guest accounts, yes.
away for regrooving: "Wait, any non-logged-in person can send themself a gift account? Seems potentially exploitable! "
Nah, if the email already exists, no account is made and if a different address is used, someone still has to pay the $5 for the account, so there's no secret about who it is.

which_chick: "After snake wrestling has determined a victor, the victorious male and receptive female kinda... hang out together. Like, in close (non-sex) proximity, for like a week or so."
That's such great anecdote which_chick, we added it to the Best Of blog, thanks for sharing!
SaltySalticid: "An acquaintance of mine has made huge discoveries involving maternal and paternal care and other forms of socialization in (wait for it) millipedes."
Oooh, that sounds amazing SaltySalticid , can you share what some of those discoveries are?!
1. Is Metafilter policy, "do not say 'Fuck x' where x is anyone."
Yes, in most cases. Allow me to explain, historically there has been no prohibition on non-hateful cursing into the void on the site, but cursing at another person (be it a member, staff, or other people). However, we always try to lean towards leniency, there are exceptions when it comes to public persons, and the subject at hand. Saying fuck [x] in an obituary post about said person is not the same as in a post about their work, or some terrible thing they have done, and even then there are, and will be exceptions.
Admittedly, that mod note, could have used more context. On top of the name calling it was early threadshitting and also a potential derail. Now, if there's a desire to set policies that are clearer and less obscure in their application, that is something I think we all support and can work towards with the new board once seated.

Deleted one because poster had edited it to say βdeleted by posterβ. Just know you can flag your own comment and leave a note, alternatively β thisβll put it on our radar.
